PDF compression questions
Is my file sent to a server?
No. PDF processing and compression take place on your device. Your file is not uploaded; no account or cookies are required.
Which level should I choose?
Try Light first; images and selectable text are preserved. Balanced and Strong turn every page into an image, losing text selection, interactive fields and links.
Why did my file not get smaller?
Some PDFs are already compressed. If the saving is below 1%, neither the original nor a larger file is offered for download. You can try a stronger level, but even Strong cannot guarantee a reduction.
What are the limits and unsupported files?
Up to 75 MB and 150 pages are supported. Pages are processed sequentially; very large pages may use a lower resolution to limit memory. Encrypted, damaged or certain specially encoded font/image PDFs may fail. Smaller files work better on mobile devices.
